Where did all your pens go? All those pencils you bought to be productive, to make something you’re proud of? The mess crept up almost overnight, but you also know it didn’t. You rifle through bags, drawers, and anywhere else that would seem silly to look in most any other situation. And then – there it is. It’s not the prettiest, but at least you can do something.
Upright
Don’t let conventions of notation or legible handwriting slow you down! You’ve identified what you have and are moving forward to create something to organize and put in a tie later. Lucky to find something when you did, before the fire turned to embers, and the embers to ash, you follow it all the way through until the little nub of a pencil can barely make a mark. It’s all you need for the first step toward…what, exactly?
Reversed
Now that the notes are all out in front of you, in peculiar scrawled runes you are, in fact, the only authority in deciphering, maybe it wasn’t such a breakthrough moment. Then again, it’s about material to work with. But what if the material isn’t as good as you hoped? A cloud of doubt sets in. You could go ahead anyway, ignoring the fog, or you could set it all down. Take a second look, after the hand cramps die down. In all the excitement, you may not have been going for organization, but now you see where you could definitely take a pause.
