David Blackbird McKinsey was born in the Pacific Northwest, USA under a full moon, which might explain a few things, including his eventual summoning to the Astral by the figurehead and founding partner of Whiskey Terra Foxtrot.
Prior to that, he found himself drawn to the arts as a career, but also discovered a profound dissonance between orthodox business wisdom and proclaimed enlightenment and honesty even in supposed spiritual and creative spheres. He was forced into the liminal spaces, studying and theorizing as independently as possible, developing an acutely chronic condition commonly known as The Audacity.
After his escape from a then-lifelong religious cult, he is again based in the Pacific Northwest, USA, this time with the lunatic water witch he’s madly in love with. When dispatched back into the earthen realms, he can often be found in the forest, various interviews that drive listeners mad, or pop-up markets in the general vicinity of Seattle. While not on this version of Earth, he still works at Whiskey Terra Foxtrot and is, on occasion, lent out to Blackbird Parlor.
